At nuclear missile silo N-8 Dominican Sisters Ardeth Platte , Jackie Hudson , and Carol Gilbert revisit N-8 in Weld County, Colorado, where on October 6, 2002, they had symbolically disarmed the weapon. N-8 is 1 of 500 armed nuclear weapons on 24 hour hair trigger alert in the western United States. In October '02 they opened the silo for international inspection as a gross violation of international and domestic U.S. law. Recently out of federal prison terms after being convicted at trial with no opportunity to argue the case of the criminality of these weapons, the sisters revisit the silo.
Jackie, Carol and Ardeth: PACE (peace in Italian) sign, crime scene tape at the entrance to N-8 Minuteman III missile silo.
The Italian peace sign is a reminder that people in other lands want peace, peace is a common desire.
The people are clear - they want peace;
they bring an evicition notice to the Minuteman Missile Silo!
Resisters gather at the road leading to N-8 Missile Silo;
the fenced in silo is barely visible in the center,
just below the horizon.
