UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT WILLIAM F. HENRY November 18, 2005
Mr. Robert E. Kee RE: Platte, Ardeth
Dear Mr. Kee, On October 24. 2005. our office advised you that we were denying the above-named inmate's request to relocate. While I recognize that the illegal activities of inmate Ardeth Platte and her co-defendant Carol Gilbert are atypical and deserve special consideration, I am also guided by "standard practices" and policy. Taking all of that into consideration, as well as the fact that Ms. Platte has strong ties to the District of Maryland and virtually no ties to the District of Colorado, it seems that it is in the best interest of her rehabilitation for her to reside in the District of Maryland after her release. If during the course of supervision it is determined that Ms. Platte's residence at the Jonah House becomes an obstacle to her successfully complying with the conditions of her supervised release, we will communicate our concerns to the District of Colorado, and recommend appropriate alternatives or sanctions. Sincerely, William F. Henry, Chief
cc. Honorable Barbara A. Mikulski Frederick Bach, Chief Chris Keating, Sr. USPO
