White House Witness: August 9, 2007

The Faith and Resistance Retreat gathers at the White House to remember those killed by the US atomic bomb dropped on Nagasaki, Japan, and to say, No to War.
Mark Colville stands near, while Start Loving (James McGinley), Keeley Colville and Steve Miller
create a die-in, remembering children and families killed by the US in Nagasaki. Keeley, and her Dad,
Mark, are is from the Amistad Catholic Worker in Connecticut.
Kathy Boylan holds sign: 62 years ago the US bombed Nagasaki, while Start, Keeley and Steve hold
images of people killed in Nagasaki.
Police are beginning the arrest process.
 
 
Meanwhile, others are drawing shadows on the street, remembering those vaporized by the heat of the atomic blast. People walking in the city, there on second, the next second there was nothing left but a shadow on the sidewalk.
Steve Miller arrested in front of the White House.
Steve Miller from Baltimore is arrested at the White House saying no to the criminal warmaking of this US Empire. Steve and Start Loving (J. McGinley) were held overnight and through the next day, and were released from Superior Court around 4 pm.
Keeley was arrested for saying no to the warmaking of this country. She was held in the Park Police cells at Anacostia, and released from Juvy around 2:30 in the morning.
