Who are the real terrorists?

Sr. Carol and St. Ardeth have worked tiredlessly for decades to help those who are poor, and to reduce violence in our communities and in the world. They have stood for nonviolence and truthfulness, and have often been arrested for standing up for their convictions. They follow the teachings of their faith to "love one another" and they follow international law that tells us that weapons of mass destruction are illegal.

Recently, registered letters were sent to the Sisters that claim, through surveillance and spying by the Maryland State Police that our sisters, along with 51 others, are terrorists.

The ACLU has been attempting to shine light on all the illegal measures of the Maryland State Police for many months. The only reports given by the Maryland State Police to the ACLU have been for the years 2005-2006.

We understand the terror of people who live under the bombs dropped by the US in Afghanistan and Iraq. We understand the terror experienced by countries who are threatened with the use of US nuclear weapons. We, here at Jonah House, say that our US Empire, is, at this moment, the biggest terrorist the world has seen. We believe that for life to continue, the US must disarm, and we must find ways to negotiate, to work together, to share, and to love one another.
